Hope someone could shed some light on this for me as its getting a right pain in the behind, had problems with rangey not starting, when i pulled and pushed relays in and out it seemed to come to life, i have now traced it to relay 19 which on here P38 Range Rover Engine Bay Fuse Box Fuse and Relay Information-P38 Range Rover Electrical Common faults and Fixes it says Engine Main Control Relay, what happens now is sometimes it starts fine and other times i get no glow plug light on dash and no noise of any pumps etc from engine bay, if i then pull said fuse in and out or put a test light from earth on battery to outside edge prong on relay 19 it lights up the test light then when i pull relay out and back in the test light goes off and glow plug light comes on and hear pumps start in engine bay and will then fire up, hope someone can understand this help, cheers guys

Thanks, i have changed fusebox, only a second hand one but doing it on both fuse boxes, will try strip it and take a look at weekend

I have tried different relays but same problem, will have to try a new fuse box, could it be a dodgy earth somewhere possibly or pretty much fuse box internals? thanks for help

I've narrowed my fault to the car down to these relays. I've ordered some replacement relays, but i'm not sure if there is a fault with the fuse box itself. There seems to be some mods to the fuse box which improves the power supply to the car. http://rangeroverworld.blogspot.co.uk/2010/02/fuse-box-relays.html

You could try bending the relay legs (,just a little) but not so much you have to force the relay in:eek:;) O and look for heat cracks on the relay pin socket or a smell like burning,...:)
