P38 rear window motor

Had "LHR window not set" message displayed intermittentlly since buying vehicle about 2 months ago, done all the usual reset's etc but window finally stuck open today. Removed door panel and released motor from housing looks like brushes are worn unevenly on motor causing it to stick, teeth on quadrant look OK, has anybody replaced brushes or is it straight for a replacement item ?
As a temp fix I have closed the window manually and secured the regulator arm with a cable tie, the alarm still comes up on display, will this prevent the BeCM sleeping and give me a flat battery ? if so is there any way to link out this alarm ?

Window not set should not cause any BECM problems unless it thinks the window is open in which case it may cause problems with the alarm.
