My p38 vogue se 4.6 v8, has a faulty aerial. I believe the aerial is part of the rear windows. Is there a fix for this?, or is it a case of installing an external aerial?

My 6cd changer works well. I've even used the tape deck on occasion

Got the same problem, but not too bothered. Radio just plays the same thing on a repeat+shuffle on 2 cd's nowadays.

My radio reception is awful too (especially on R1). Anyone know where the amplifiers live? I seem to recall reading somewhere that there are two.

If you have the Clarion 'Diversity' head unit, it uses two FM antennas, one in each rear window (MW/LW just one on the offside). I had crap reception when I got mine which turned out to be bad connections at the rear of the head unit. I ended up having to have that repaired at Clarion due to it failing altogether later on. They sent two new adaptors back with it and reception's been excellent since. I think it's more likely to be a connection problem you have somewhere, either into the amplifiers or into the head unit. (Clarion charge a flat rate of around eighty quid I think for repairs and they have it back within a couple of days. Absolutely excellent service. They renew any bulbs, renew the display and any other repairs. All the same price. They can also add an iPod lead for an extra twentyfive quid. Really recommend them).
Good luck.

Hmm, that might be worth doing as the bulbs are gone on mine too and I can't be bothered to take it apart myself.

Any idea where i can get details of the address to send it? Might be worth a try, although I can't say that I'm all that impressed with the sound quality of my Diversity.

They have a website - just google clarion service centre. It's at Swindon. I'm not at home at the moment so I can't get the number etc from the repair receipt. They also advertise on fleabay. They were extremely helpful and efficient and were even familiar with the odd additions that I have (Sony TV system playing through a FM encoder). The number off the website is 01285 861861. Worth a call if nothing else.

Thanks for that - I'll give it a go.

Old thread resurrection..........I have perfect FM reception but rubbish AM reception, which is unfortunate as I only listen to TalkSport. So they must be separate aerials, yes? Anyone know where the AM aerial is on a 2001 P38.
