My Original P38 radio cassette players LCD screen has gone, does anyone know if you can buy an official or aftermarket replacement for it?

Reason being is that the radio cassette works but you cant read the stupid LCD screen to use it or even put the code in it to operate it.

Once sorted, I may sell it on eBay....any help would be appreciated.

The pixels can be fixed on the screen but i would just change it to an aftermarket 1, i replaced mine with a pioneer mp3 player and i reckon the sound from it is top notch.

Hi
Have got a mate who's got the same problem,Radio works but no screen. He's also got the HK system,so wants to keep the original head unit..
Does anyone know if its a bulb change like the HEVAC unit,,or if its a LCD screen change required?
Cheers

I too replaced mine with a Pioneer DEH-P6800MP Head Unit and a [FONT=Arial, Verdana]Pioneer CD-BTB100 Bluetooth Adapter for hands free mobile phone use.

The reason why I want to fix my original cassette radio is that if I can for not much outlay, I could sell it for some other P38 owner looking for a replacement to keep the consoles original look.

They go for very silly money on eBay....last one I saw went for £330 fully working.....

Its the diversity models that go for silly money, the model that has cd control if you dont have that model then its not worth very much as i sold 1 on ebay and only got £30 for it.

The reason most people want the original head unit is to replace 1 that has either their unit is locked due to not knowing the code or the pixels have gone.
