Hello everyone, I've joined this site as I currently own 3 Range Rovers, 2 x P38's and 1 Classic. I'm always meesing around with them and do most of my own repairs etc.
Yesterday I had a problem with my 4.6 HSE V8. No petrol was getting to the engine. Eventually traced the problem back to the Petrol Pump which was working but had fallen off it's assembly. It was still connected to the wiring but had become disconnected from the supply hose to the engine. I've now ordered a new one as there seems to be some parts missing which secure the pump in place and I suspect a previous owner has done a "bodge" job.
On strripping the pump assembly down I was completely amazed to see the exposed 12v wiring actually INSIDE the tank - How can this possibly be acceptable?? I would have thought that the slightest loose connection could cause a spark and convert my beloved motor to a 2 tonne petrol bomb???
