P38 - No rear screen wash

Check there is voltage at the rear screen pump connection first when the switch is operated, if not...check the switch operation and electrical inputs/outputs.
Worth a mention though that one of the first signs of circuit failure in the rear wash/wipe operation can be down to the BECM. Hopefully though, your problem is being caused by a faulty pump/switch/wiring connection etc.
 
I've only managed a quick look from underneath at the bottom of the screen wash bottle. Is there one common motor with two feeds (front and rear wash) or are there two motors.

Is there a fuse

I had a similar thing where the actual wiper mechanism had seized up. Operating the wash/wipe resulted in nothing. Freed the spindle off and everything back to normal (neither the wiper OR washer would work before). Possibly the BECM detects no movement in the wiper and so ceases to operate either? Maybe Irish will put me right on that one.
 
Just quoting the possibilities...have a look on Carelect.co.uk - cars Resources and Information. in asmuch that failure of the rear wash wipe or spurious bulb failure messages..in particular, related to the indicators can be component failure in the BECM. However the days of paying the stealers almost £800 for a replacement are gone..if you look around.
Regarding Derek's post, there is no monitoring function within the BECM for the rear wiper motor, however if the motor has seized in the park position the park switch in the wiper motor gearbox could be linked into the wash cycle electrical input. I haven't studied the diagrams but it is a possibility

Almost certainly. Don't make a mountain out of a molehill folks!

Get a new BLACK pump and fit it.

If you have front fog lights, just remove the one near the washer bottle (2 screws from behind) and you can gain access to the pump.

It's a doddle. I had the same problem. I bought a secondhand unit off eBay for £6.50.
 
Have you tried just replacing the pump itself? On my 2.5 DSE P38, there are three small pumps plugged into the base of the screenwash reservoir. One is for the screen, one for the headlamp washers and one for the rear screen washer. When my rear screen wash failed, it was simply a faulty washer pump - not expensive, even from the LR stealer. Only a 10 minute job to replace if you lie on your back underneath and don't mind getting wet. I think they might have been slightly different (colour?) so you need to have the right one. :)
 
Hi i had the same problem on my RR with pumps i found which connector worked my front winscreen washer then unplugged other switches on other pumps found out they was working headlight washer worked light have to be on the rear pump was working but no water coming out of rear window, was wondering if there could be a blockage in the pipes as they,ve not been used in a while can anyone give me any help on this please

I'm going with datatek on this one. BECM.

That is one of the most common faults we fix, & it's one of the first signs of becm troubles.

So, I put my money on the becm, & yes, it probably can be repaired.

Look at the non return valve behind trim N/S rear corner.
