Mine is a 2001 2.5. No chip. Does 24.5 mpg by calculation (the disputed 'brim to brim' method) and on the computer. If I leave it to average out over 2 or 3 hundred miles it is always around that, whether stop start, across the fields or longer runs. On an entirely motorway run using cruise control a few weeks ago it did go up a bit to 26/27 doing 75.

I have roughly worked it out using the brim method and no way is it doing the 16mpg on the message centre. I estimate it around 26mpg and we did 220miles on nearly a half a tank. So running at 55 mph on the good roads, it seems to increase. Not bothered with the output, it's running and starts well in the cold. So leave it to warm up and slowly increase the speed, cars a pleasure again to drive.

If I'm just pootling around the village the computer says 10 to 15. I did a 1300 mile run in the summer, on cruise control for 800 of motorway, and I got 30.4.
