 once apon a time i ..... hello everyone....i NEED HELP

i have a p38 4.0 se with a miss fire ive changed plugs leads but its still there... in fact its there all the time.....i have checked it has fuel . and it has spark..... there is no strange noises and it runs fine..... well as well as a car with a miss fire.... after talking to someone they say it might be a weak spark ...... before i change the coil pack i wondered if anyone has any idea... it was running fine and then half way to work (bout 5 miles so it was warm) it started missing.... please help

Mine had a similar problem not too long ago the Garage finally worked it out it was a lose crank sensor the other side of the fly wheel now how accurate this is i dont know but its what they told me was wrong after two weeks of looking into the problem i was glad the Rangie was still under warranty the garage owner was not so happy with his mechainc though :)

I hope this may help

it might be nothing more than a duff plug. try and isolate which cylinder/s it misfiring on then swap plugs for ones from cylinder/s sans misfire.

if the misfire moves with the plugs then yer have yer cause

Just changed the plugs round but its still there in the same place.... also tried the crank sensor... its still tight... so people what do you think it is ..... keep the ideas comein please lmao

thanks people

yea did compression test everything is fine.... and i aint looseing water.......and not overheating

Very common are misfire issues on v8 LP's - you need to find a garage to check out your engine properly using an oscilliscope.Less than an hour of workshop time should pinpoint the cause.
