Quick one:

Anyone know which one and where is the main beam live wire for splicing in spots?

N/S O/S which side is better from those who have experience assuming there's a choice?

Thanks:D

There's space to work directly behind the nearside lights, it's a lot tighter on the off side with the battery there.

The wires are there for the spots, why try to splice into the main beam wire? Unless you use a relay, the BECM will not like the extra load.

Ok i'll have a look for those and go that route if I can.

I was going to do the standard 30 amp relay setup so they come on with the main beam-bit of a rogue 'defender' style setup I know. But if you think this may wake a gremlin in the BECM I'd rather not in that case. DO you know of any wiring diagrams available Datatek? It's useful for stuff like this and having just fit a new head unit would have helped with rewiring the harness on the new unit.

The wire colours for the Main Beam should be Blue & Black (R.H.) and Blue & Grey L.H.)

There is no reason why a relay cannot be wired into the circuit using the main beam wire to energise the relay coil. The current used by the coil will have no advese affects on the Becm.
I am using 100/65 watt headlamp bulbs and have had no problems with the wiring or Becm since fitting them over 7 years ago.
If you use the spare fog lamp wiring, you will need the correct switch fitted into the spare (Blanked) aperture in the dash and the foglamps enabled in the Becm. There are several options regarding how they are enabled e.g. Side lights, rear fog lights, main beam etc.

Cool, that's what I thought...Thanks for the advice!
