Hello Everyone. About 3 weeks ago, my Rangie started having a knocking noise that sound rotational, if you know what I mean. Knock...knock...knock...etc it has since gotten worse, so I took it to my mechanic who checked everything and came up with, it's the front diff. He took the prop shaft off and turned the diff to find that every 10 rotations or so it felt like it was missing. Do you very knowledge people agree with the conclusion? Or anything else? I don't fancy buying a diff if its not that for obvious reasons. Any advice etc would be truly truly helpful.
thank you all!

drain the oil out if it has lost a tooth there should be some bits

Check your CV's. A tempt fix might be to pump some moly grease in each of the housings and see if the sound goes away.

Thank you guys, but I was curious as to why the noise would get worse? As now it's really bad? Was hoping it was the prop shaft UJ's?
O also does my Rangie have a diff lock and would that stop the knocking? I'm just sceptical that it is the diff as its got gradually worse and it's more of a clunking kind of knocking not a whiney one. Hmmm? Toying with taking it to a specialist landy garage to find out. The mechanic who looked at my beast has only worked on Landys not RR?

Have you checked your wheelnuts?

Many moons ago I had a similar experience on a different car which transpired to be a couple of wheelnuts that had not been tightened properly after a replacement tyre had been fitted.
