P38 Key fob repair

Hi room I need to replace the buttons on my key fob I have bought the buttons on ebay but dont have a clue how to change them, would anyone send me there number so they can walk me through the process please?

pull out the old plastic buttons and push in the new ones, itr actually that simple, you dont need anyone to walk you through that

thaks copied same, but now have message thats say 'key in ignition' after ive removed it. It does go out after i lock the doors though

your barrel is sticking. when your key is half out of the barrel giggle the barrel a little bit and it will release the pins and you wont get that message anymore.

Lubricate it with graphite lock lubricant

How silly do i feel now! I have virtually destroyed the casing on my spare to open it, when i didnt need to all along, as a famous American once put it.... DOH!!

Hi,

I have the same ignition key in message and it stops remote central locking working.

Do I just spray that stuff into the hole where the key goes?

It's not tumblers sticking it's the small grey gate on the lock that sticks in the up position. A blow with an airline sorts it 9 times out of 10.

Yes, followed by pushing the key in and out rapidly a few times.

Back on the subject of keys - does anyone know where I can get hold of a cheap new case for my P38 key? Son dropped set of keys the other day and piece where key fits to keyring broke off. Key working fine but pain in the arse as now separate from other keys.
