hi there i have 30th anniversary p38 it dropped its key code i then tried to enter the code into the door and the door is completely dead can any one please help me

someone else told me that is that the actual door lock its self?
Sorry mate, my last post was possibly a bit short. Sometimes I forget that others haven't had as much of the Rangie experience.
The door lock is much as you'd find on any 'normal' car with, of course, the electrical gubbins to operate central locking. However, and it's logical when you think of it, turning the key back and forth to input the EKA code must operate something electrical for the car to recognise what you're up to. These are the microswitches that I referred to. The other time that you might find yourself involved in this is if your interior light doesn't come on when you open the door because the switch for this is in the lock.
So, if your key doesn't even mechanically operate the door lock then you have a mechanical issue but if it's not recognising the EKA code then the first things to check are the microswitches.
Either way, it's a door panel off job.

got offered a 30th by a seller in Glos, a real lemon including dead brain! Told micro switches but when I took the front door panels off nearly the entire insides were missing and what was there had been botched together - not to mention DSP amp missing etc etc - very expensive to rectify .
Hope yours is as simple as the micro switches.

some, but as it was missing all the speakers, the dsp amp, sub woofer, cd changer, alpine radio, sat nav system was intermittant, door cards needed repair without even going near the EKA problem I figured it needed too many of my bits to make it a worthwhile project. My figures came to £600 and that was before I paid for the DSP amp at £425 +vat as I dont have one.
They do look nice but it was destined for someone else to put on the road.
