right i have taken off hot start fix and fuel is back up to 25 ish mpg
when you stop the truck and it is warm if i try to start it within 30 seconds it will fire up no problem,if i leave it say 2 minutes it can take up to 20 turns before it fires,i think it could be fuel draining back to the tank,i have no fuel leaks,
i wouldn't mind trying an injector upgrade, what is available for the p38?
i think i have a leaking injector as well,(or 6)

will look at some different injectors.

I had fitted a hotfix previously and found al sorts of problems.. when I inspected the installation I found that the blue connectors had not made correct contact as needed so ended up cutting away the insulation to allow correct connection. I also picked a thicker earth wire to connect to.

I would refix but take time to fix properly.

You can fit a simple push button switch to activate the glowplugs operated from the cab. Someone did it and posted on here. If you are getting 25ish mpg, there is not much wrong with your injectors.

Just FYI but I located a real expert on diesel injection systems, particularly Bosch and they fixed the hot-start problem. They cleaned injectors I think and adjusted some setting on pump. They said it has 3,6,9 setting and it was on 3 and they moved it to 6 as I understood - they were speaking Czech so it was not easy to understand - just shows you don't need to start re-wiring your car to get it sorted and risk fuel economy. BTW: My P38 has done 280,000Kms.

I thought there was a post a few days ago about fixing the hot start problem by replacing the ignition relay? Or maybe I dreamt about it.....
