hi,my p38 td seems to be holding its, self back just like one of the brakes is holding on.iv checked all wheels and non of them are stuck.it is not that bad but im very finiky and can feel something is wrong.can any one help please

Is this a recent problem that has developed, or always been like that?

How long have you owned the car?

If you put it in neutral when rolling along does it coast okay?

Otherwise there may not be anything wrong, just a very heavy car holding back an underpowered engine.

i have had the car just over a year now and yes if i put the car in neutral it does coast ok.the problem has just started.

So I guess it's under gentle acceleration? Auto or manual? Any misfires, hesitations, shuddering?

Joshydee is suggesting a seized viscous coupling perhaps, this would manifest itself when the car goes around corners, when on full lock in a car park the tyres will squeal/spin and the car will require more accelerator to move.
