P38 Glovebox help - spring?

Hi All, Replacing the glovebox (RHD P38) from a while back and for the life of me cannot remember what this little metal piece does and ideas on how/where it fits? Think it belongs to the glovebox.

Help greatly appreciated

That is the retaining clip on either the left or the right dasboard vent. Not worth pulling things to bits for, but next time you have the binnacle off (or glove box) you can fix it. Mounts on a couple of plastic lugs...they like to break
