P38 experts - advice appreciated

As I thought I was looking for a Discotdi'td5, seeing this P38 on ebay 280357991708 got me wondering and reeling in shock that I might even consider it. If as I've been reading the 4.6 can average about 22mpg on a run then that is not too unliveable with as my current vehicle - a Sprinter does about 25 - 28 mpg average.

If everything is as advertised what sort of price should I be expecting to pay?

Also, if it looks feasible is there anyone around the Stockton area that would like to earn a few quid either doing a test drive/report for me or meeting up and accompanying me on a test drive?

there were two bids retracted last time it was on and the seller says the reserve was almost met, the cancelled bid was £4500 which is more than id pay for it, you say 22 on a run you can live with but can you live with the 12mpg around town? shop around to compare prices before committing yourself.

I got the exact same one, with only 75k miles and it was spotless. I only paid £3.5k for it. True, it was £50k when new, but things depreciate regardless of what it cost 11 years ago :doh:

whats he mean by this 'Head Gasket Replaced - this was a large cost solely in order to stop a single drip oil leak

i live in co.durham and stockton is only 25 mins away from me so if you want me to take i look and tear it apart for any weakness just give me a shout.

Thanks for the offer but my head's been knocked back in line and I'm sticking with looking for a Disco- and I still don't think a v8 would fit where the missus said she'd place it if I turn up with one
