P38 exhaust

I have a 4.6 p38 and the centre box has rotten through. Been looking on ebay and seen straight through replacement pieces in stainless steel for the same price as a replacement centre box. I was wondering how much noise deadening the centre box does (as I wouldn't mind it a bit louder) but also does it unduly affect the performance and economy? New to the world of v8's and p38's so was just looking for some advice or if anyone has actually done it and lived with it for a while

i bought the same product infact most dont actually do the straight threw for the p38 so i bought from some one else on the bay stainless steel very nice pipe i love it when its fitted but and here is the but its soooooooooooo loud iv refitted the standard box. the sounds is very intusive in the cabin but wind the window down around town and its just the best no i cant live with it day today stick to the standard box is my advice its a luxury car why make it sound like a boy race chav mobile

this is it very well made. after contacting almost every one else on the bay directly i think they all said they didnt actually do a straight threw pipe for the p38 at all.

To be honest I'm in the Royal Navy and don't use it day to day as I live on base. Only use it weekends to go to the girlfriends house so extra noise isn't too much of a concern. It's the collet for the connecting flange that has broken off on the welds so was going to take it off and fit a straight through to see what it's like and repair the old box for if it's not nice. Did you notice any drop in engine performance or economy when it's fitted? Thanks for the link

Also if you have refitted the standard centre box back on does that mean the straight through is for sale by any small chance?

hi the urban assault vehicle has a replacement britpart centre muffler from the us of a. 195 aud. in my tiny lounge. lol. . island 4 x4 are cheap too. depends on the dollar value. well. its on and no more noises on the lhd side. as im aussie wo wo rhd. . i dident think it would work. bit it flanged up ok. zoom. zoom. no goo or sealer. i think it was a e3195 . sweet. so time to move on the next issue.
