what year is the original?
if they are both gems or both thor then its a straight swap, the ecu will have to be set to 4.0 i think.
i think the heads, block and ancilaries are the same for both engines, the manifilds are different(between thor and gems)

Give it a try with the engine ecu, should run. Any probs, change it for the 4.6-it will self teach over about 100 miles
