P38 engine and gearbox.

hi all.

now i no to some ppl this question is going to sound really stupid and many ppl will be thinking why would i want to do this..........

I have 2.5DT P38 Range rover. clock says 215000 but i was told it has engine of 91000 miles in it. i doubt it but at the time i bought it i wasnt bothered, i just need a good towing vehicle.

i've done many little bits to the car to get her top notch but engine and gearbox im dodgy about touching. gearbox is a bit crunchy at times, jumps out of gear too.

engine just looks like crap and well its old and getting to the end of its days i'd say.

i wanted to buy the newer version but after test driving 4 of them, i hvae decided i just dont like them. they look nice drive well but there is just something about them i dont like. cant put my finger on it.
but anyways as im not going to upgrade i wanted to know is there

anywhere that would take my engine and gearbox and basicly make them like new again.

i love my P38. so comfortable and i dont want to get rid of it. also my wife is expecting our first baby early next year so want to finich the car before then, cos im not gonna have time after.

also is it possible to get brand new engine and gearbox. if so any idea how much, also any ideas on a price to rebuild my engine and box.

With 4k to spend id look around fer anuther thats been looked after and low miles... they do exist its just findin em
