sorry to drag this up from the past, but do you have more details on the sealey tool? the item number originally posted no longer comes up,
cheers

that link didn't seem to work but i have already found the dimensions for the locking tool, will turn one up. thanks though :)

As for the DTI gauge, i take it a standard one just clamps into the threaded adaptor you kindly supplied a link to? don't need to get a specific type?
thanks again

that ebay link doesnt work anymore to old! was a long time ago that i found that tool but it is still available if you search ebay and look for bosch timing tools and look at the sellers from america.
found the same tool on ebay for another landyzone member about a month ago and yes works perfect.

Done this now using the USA eBay tools, took around 5 days to turn up, I assumed the dti gauge I got was a standard one :S it's just over 2" diameter. Job done now and it drives a lot better! Lots torquier at low rpm, my pump was set at .65mm so a fair way out!
Cheers all

What did you use for the locking pin in the end? I have the dial gauge and adapter, but not the pin.... did you have to buy the L/R (or BMW) genuine part?

Cheers

Lock pin is 130mm long. Major diameter is 11.90mm, pin on end of it is 10mm long, 7.90 mm diameter. Get one made out of silver steel. I have put these dimensions on "How To" thread but they obviously don't trust me, as it's not visible yet.
