Just following up on another thread.

Several of us here are complaining of oil/crud being sucked out of the Cam cover breather and filling up the intercooler and inlet manifold. In my case I'm losing a lot of oil between services - 4 litres, most of which I believe is coming out the breather.

The non-EGR models had a breather valve instead of a tube. anything to stop someone fitting one of these valves to an EGR equipped model.

Lamjdun mentioned that a valve internal to the Cam cover can block up. Has anyone cleaned/repaired one of these?

I took the camcover off to investigate but found getting it off difficult and putting it back on even worse and while it was off I didn't see anything obvious that I could do.
Anybody got any tips on removal/replacing or any more info?

Are you sure the oil is coming from the breather and not a shagged turbo? Seems unlikely that oil from the breather would get into the intercooler against the turbo pressure?

The rocker cover vent is on the suction side of the intake between the MAF and the turbo.

As Wammers said the vent is on the suction side of the turbo and yes, its definitely coming from the Cam cover, there's a big weep of oil coming out around the grommet (must be sucking air in there too but thats another issue) and the vent pipe is always full of oil.
