p38 diff gone, what other diff will fit??

right guys my 2.5 dse front diff has gone
had a discovery 24 spline one off a m8 but that dont fit either
does the p38 v8 diff fit? or what other diff can i get to fit??

Question is, what caused the diff to fail? Maybe you also have a problem with the viscous coupling causing transmission wind up

I think the petrol diff will fit ok, I don't think there's any difference in the drive ratios (I can't find anyone listing different ratios for petrol/diesel), the difference being taken up in the gear/transfer boxs.

P38 diffs all same ratio. Diesel 2 pin front and rear. V8 2 pin front 4 pin rear.

Two questions:
1 Are all P38 diffs (petrol and diesel) 24 spline?
2 Are 4-pin diffs a like-for-like upgrade for 2-pin ?
