Advice needed please,planning on changing mine soon so done the searches and been on fleebay and there is a huge difference in price for the fuel pumps,ranging from £50-£150. Now obviously i dont want a ****part one but can anyone recommend a supplier of a decent one,cheers
 
just had mine replaced, got it from island 4x4 they also dropped the tank and cleaned all the sludge out, as i want to make sure all was clean when they put the new pump in they took 2.5hours to do it?:)
 
This post shows how to replace the pump by cutting a hole in the floor rather than removing the tank. It is how I did mine and it is a lot easier than taking the tank out.

As far as the pump is concerned I would go for a landrover one. I bought a britpart one and it lasted 3 months. Got it replaced and I am now watching to see if it packs up again. I will report back to the forum.
 
Although i would agree that cutting a hole in the floor is alot easier to do, i opted for the dropping of the tank for several reasons,
1. I wanted to check all the fuel lines hiding under the tank,
2. I wanted the tank cleaned out before the new pump was put in to ensure no sludge and dirt was stucked up. (which was found in the tank)
3. Cutting the floor would weaken the floor and allow rusting and water to come in.
4. Cutting the floor......It's MONKEY!!
5. I'm a woman and it will be done my way, and wasn't me getting my hands dirty on this one!!!:D

Thanks for replies, I am going hole in floor route and epoxy seal it, I,ll try Foundry 4x4 and hope its a decent bit of kit.

Think you will find that unless you get the genuine Land rover pump at £215.48 from a dealer like Rimmers. All the others. Famous 4 £120.00 + Vat. Foundry £81.95. Rimmer aftermarket £59.94. Island 4x4 £41.66 are all the same Britpart type item.
