P38 Diesel fuel or head issue??

so driving home motorway then dual carriageway

fine most of the way but when stopped at lights the tick over was all over the place, car was juddering while slowing down or crawling in traffic. eventually leading to the engine cutting out and not starting.

today go to the car, jumped from another car tick over the same, between 1100rpm and 500rpm bouncing all over until it cuts out, if you can keep the rpm over 1100 it sounds fine, although I've not been able to get it fully warm yet.

so what do you guys suspect is the issue here? I'm I looking at a head gasket cracked head issue? or is this a fuel issue?
 
ok, but i don't use chippy fat?

Suggest you put some diagnostics on it then. If there are no faults put some proper fuel in it and see what you get. Erratic idle but ok above 1100 RPM would indicate a problem with the idle control circuit. Crank position sensor, quantity control servo.

ok, so if I hot wire the in tank pump, remove all black diesel then fill with Dino juice and see what happens?

I have no access to diagnostics here, but willing to buy, so any suggestions?
