they are all repeated 3 times. first a start code 12
show 3 times.
then the first faultcode (also showed 3 times)
then second faultcode (showed 3 times)
etc.
end of transmission again 12 (3 times)
then it restarts again with the codes.

you can try it on your car

quote:
To do self diagnostics. Bridge terminal 4 & 15. Now turn ignition to 2nd position. trouble codes Will display after short pause .each code repeated 3 times. First code 12 (start test) eml flashes once (signifies 1) pause then 2 flashes once (signifies 2) this repeated total 3 times. Then any codes are displayed in same format. 34 would be 3 flashes pause 4 flashes repeated total 3 times. End of test Will be code 12 again.
I know how to do it, I have the full write up, got better things to do and it's pointless as I have a Faultmate MSV2.

Think you had better read the thread. The answer is in there many times.

Hi,
I am French and it's hard for me understand the intricacies of responses.

Is it a problem EGR?
insuffisent voltage during startup?
an error which must not be concerned?

Have you always your mistake 33?

Thank you for your help.

Fault code 33 does not exist on the Land rover M51 engine. Anything listed as an invalid fault code can be ignored. EGR on the M51 is EGR with feedback. Meaning that the reduction of airflow through the MAF sensor as EGR is applied represents the amount of exhaust gas being ingested. The ECU uses this flow information to modulate the EGR valve to maintain the correct amount of combustible air for the power level requested. With EGR in operation at low power levels and RPMs up to 50% of the charge maybe exhaust gas.
