i there i ham gowing to change my engine for a omega td one and wont to no what needs changing over of the oreganal engine. i no the oil sump and pickup pipe but just wouder if there is any thing els

i there hall can you take the engine out with out taking gearbox out and how hard is the job to do as i have never dun one befor .dun lods of car engines and got hall the tools to do the job

Everything should fit except the turbo/air-con pump/engine mounts/flywheel andoil sump. if it is an auto note which way around the flywheel is as they will go on back-to-front rendering the crank sensor useless.

Starter/alternator/injectors/wiring loom and fuel pump are all the same, pump is not coded and the reference injector (one with the wire on it)does not have to be changed.

i there i sterted the job to day. when you sed bellhousing bolts did you men the two on top with the steel pipe brackets atach to them one on each side.i have only got the engine mauntings to undo then i can hopfoly get it out .i have got a 4 ton engine hoest and chan to lift it out . carnt see no info on the rave cd about taking the engine out is it on work shop manuel 1 or work shop manuel 2 . i have just red on a nuther post that you have to unbolt the tork converter throw a rubber axes hol on the left and side of engine befor you split the engine from the box. is this only if it is a auto box or dus this aply to a manuel box as well

Markowl, you will also have to undo the bolts holding the clutch slave cylinder to the bellhousing.

To allow the clutch fork to disengage (its a pull clutch not a push clutch as most are) you may also have to rotate the cross-shaft by hand if it will not disengage.....

You will need to swap the electronic gubbins from the RR injection pump onto the Omega pump. Have a word with tonyyzf. He has done a similar transfer.

thanks to hevery one for the info i have looked at chapter 12 page 5 and on rave it says to undo the bolts holding the clutch slave cylinder to the bellhousing. To allow the clutch fork to disengage . is it hard to get the clutch fork to reingage back in .the replasment engine came out of a outo and mine is a manuel so i will have to change the flywwheel and clutchplate hop to get the engine out tomorow change hall the bits i need to change over and get it back in with no borther.

it is easy to get the fork back in place by fitting the bell housing to the engine without the gearbox. also when removing the engine leave the bell housing on the engine

i there as you can see i ham back at it a gane this time i ham changing the engine as i dont no what is rong with the one in it so i bort a replasment for it this one has only dun 100 thausend mils as the origenal engine ad dun 170 . any way thanks for the info on taking the engine out sorry about the speling
