p38 deisel 2000. power drop?

Can anybody help me? If you have a nanocom and live near Dewsbury West Yorkshire I would much appreciate your help. My rangerover keeps going into limp mode of sorts.Then drives normal again for a while? There are no warning lights or advisories on the dash? Many thanks for looking, hope I can get it sorted it's doing my head in !!!!!!!!!!

Lift pump?

Hi is that in the tank ? when i switch on i can hear it working! So far i have spent 500 pounds to rectify the prob !!!!!!! I think it may be going to the scrap yard after the diagnostic check!!!!!!!

You can possibly here the ABS pump not the fuel lift pump. Noise from that is pretty well damped by the fact it's immersed in fuel. Let us know what the fault read outs are. Dicky lift pump will not show up as a fault.

It goes in on monday so will tell you then what they say ? Thanks for your replies.

P.S. Just an after thought, every time it comes out of limp mode i can hear a metallic twang noise coming from off side front wing area?

Get them to check for sticking brakes.

Don't like the sound of that. When they did the brake test for the MoT test they didn't put it on single axle rollers did they?

Well, it is permanent 4WD so the front is connected to the back. Spinning and stopping the front with the back not moving is going to strain the bits in between a bit.

They probably didn't but best check. Usually they have an accelerometer in the car and take it on the road.

took it in today, guess what? they could find nothing wrong!!!!!! what do I do now? any suggestions will be considered then ignored! just kidding. if I had hair I'd pull it out. hope someone out there reads this.

Well either the power drop is imaginary or they don't know what they are doing.

Hi, Dave here. Is the offer still on to come to you and get my p38 checked on the nanocom. It's playing up again. Fom cold no problems will run great all day, but as soon as i stop and start again no power. Only can drive at 30, 40 mph and very sluggish. I'm more than willing to compensate you for your trouble. Many thanks Dave.
