Hi there - just bought my 3rd P38, a beautiful 1996 4.6 HSE w/ LPG.
The bloke who had it before me has cocked up the centre console (switch panel) with all the EAS/Foglights etc on it in the middle.

He's cut a gaping hole in the middle where the glove slot is, just right of the clock. He intended to fit a 2-din DVD player in there but then discovered the hole is only 2 inches deep.

I've purchased a new centre console which should arrive soon, and I need to know what's involved in taking off and re-fitting it. I'm pretty competent with DIY.

Thanks a lot,
Sam.

take out the bit over the speedo and rev counter, there is a screw behind there, also there is one on each side beneath the two side panels, i have only found these as i'm tring to remove mine to sort out blend motors, aircon and new stereo that i will be doing through the course of the year!! although i have only recce'd it so far!!!

if you look to the right of that ebay picture under the yellow writing there is(i think) a hole for the screw, i found it by accident when checking out the scale of the above mentioned jobs, might replace mine in the process too!

also just pull the switch for the lights, dont be scared it will come out, just try to tie/tape the plug so u can reach it after as there doesnt seem to be much cable to locate it after!!

its gonna be a mare to remove the whole centre console!! with a bit of jiggery pokery it shoulf be possible to remove the two side screws and the upper right one then squeeze it out, you may have to take out the side panel screws to give you a bit of room.

on mine the side panels are connected the panels on the side of the box between the seat's side panels and the screws are on the bottom out of reach, dunno how you'd get them out looks like side panels went in before seats to me!!
