does anyone know what to do with my rangie? it seems to be leaking coolant from a few hoses which look very intact, so thinking to check for pressure build up I undid header tank cap with engine on idle to revel nothing, and on revving the engine the level of the fluid from the tank dropped and on return to idle a few seconds later started over flowing. No overheating probs or strange goings on. does anyone have an idea what the problem is as it is a little concering.

sounds like air in the system to me, check the footwell on the drivers side for damp carpet. the water supply to the heater matrix is sealed with "o" rings and there buggers for leaking, they can leak water out or daw air in. worth a look anyway.

Hi I had a similar problem with my P38 2.5 DT BMW engine some time ago turned out to be cracked heads. In the end I replaced the engine. Good luck!

In reply to your problem is it a v8 as the pipes can go porous and coolant leaks between the internal walls of the hoses, make sure when you take the pressure cap off that the water is squirting inside this will squirt more when you rev it i forot what else you wanted to no know hope this helps.

i had a coolant prob a month or so ago. i was losing coolant by the gallon, turned out to be the head gasket. new head gasket and heads skimmed cost me £150, so not too bad. also make sure your resevoir cap is fully functional. as it is a pressurised system, you be surprised what a faulty cap does, for the sake of £5.

Well Stu V8 I think your about 5 years late with this cure! I should think the vehicle has rusted away by now!!!:)
