p38 Brake pads

The pads drop on to the caliper carriers only one way, from the top!

By memory I can't think how you could fit them incorrectly.

It is quite easy to get them wrong way round. Chamfer is leading edge and should always be fitted to bottom. Pointing opposite to forward rotation of disc.

I have not changed the brake pads for over a 18 months on my P38.

But by what I remember, one pad has a spring that clips into the piston (or at least my Vectra is that way) and the outer pad just kind floats there on the carrier.

Maybe the P38 does not have a spring that clips in the piston!

By fitting them on opposite sides of the car I would guess!

Yeah sure that would make a difference. BUT you'd have to buy a certain side, not just some front pads!

Like I said, it's been a while.

I'm sure they are 'sided' if others have said they are.
