Hi guys

just took the battery out of my RR P38 can anyone tell what size battery should be in there it is a 70Ah
i would of thought something like a 120Ah should be about right ??/

What battery are you using ??

No it,s petrol 4.6 / LPG so you dont think 570cca is enough
it was ok in the summer but in the winter i had to keep jump start it every couple of weeks

Yeps..A/h is of secondary importance..although still important..go for a balnce of the two..but for a big engine like that you need a lot of amps going in at start up in winter..i'm a tratter driver but i'd suggest at least 700cca and pref more...someones put a cheap battery in...be prepared to spend £100 on a good 'un.

Go to an agricultural supplier and get a tractor battery, good prices on big batteries at least that is so here in France. It's possible to get a 900CCA battery in.

second that. Had all sorts of probs with a replacement from Quick ****. I purchased a diesel spec one from the main stealer. Wow mega huge chunk and not let me down in 3 years and still oik if the kids leave there lights on overnight. It wasnt more expensive than one from a motor factors

Hi
I have a Numax marine 110 amp, 1000 cca and it only just fits, 2mm taller, wider, longer and it wouldn't fit, was a bit of a struggle to get the cables on as they were reluctant to exit out there allocated route, Ohh and it don't seem to have much problem spinning the engine.

Got a Yausa 1000cca battery from allparts for about £100 all in,... perfect fit!!

Try all the motorfactors... if ytou know someone with a trade account...that always helps too!

owners manual states diesel 1o7 amp, i put in a 110 , alls sweet now. go top quality varta, yuasa or bosch.

now thats better with the replys now i have some idea of what to put in to my p38 thanks guys

any more thoughts
