Hi. Assuming the battery is ok, then P38 has known problems with RF receiver. (the remote key works on same frequency as wifi and similar gear that wasn`t around when P38 designed). Put "P38 flat battery" in search and you`ll find lots of info on this. Good luck.

Hello again. You tacked a response on back of other thread. Still no worries. If you get in trouble, get back on, and ask again.

I've had that happen! I now know the places in town with the strongest wifi signals because if I ever park there, the remote won't work, the engine is disabled and I have to use the EKA code! However I find that given the RF receiver's in the right rear quarterpanel it sometimes does work when I hold my fob close to that and give it a try. :)

Doesn't really bother me but purely out of curiosity, is there a fix?

its usually signals on the 433mhz or in that range that keep waking the becm, wifi is on 2.4ghz and should not bother the rf/becm.

cheapo door chimes and other cars may well affect the rf if they are in a close band to the p38. the only two fixes are disconnect it or renew it. mine is disconnected and will remain this way!! unless i decide to re connect it to try it but the previous owner disconnected it so i'm not too bothered!

The new receiver definitely solves the battery drain problem from stray doorbells, weather stations and the like, but you may need to resync your fob - put the key in the lock and while turning it to lock position, simultaneously press the lock button on the fob, then the same for opening - press unlock on fob while unlocking the lock. This should resync the fob.
