P38 98 Transfer case

Gday
I have purchased a p38 98 4L
It has a noisy transfer box it grinds and groans until say 50Ks then I guess
the noise gets left behind in the air stream.
have had it serviced by our Landrover expert he says wellcome to the club
turn the music up!
Now BMW got rid of this malady in 2000 in a Disco I owned it had no noise at all Will the transfer case of a series 2 2000 on fit the P38 in its entirety can I change it to a disco box? is there any cure?

no props on other side but transfer box is simple to rebearing they are with the older version on classic rr beautifully designed to be built/stripped ,check output bearings first as they can be changed without removing t/box, actually much better box than lt230 as fitted to disco q type seem to like to lose teeth of gears
