Hi its been a a while since i was on here hope you all doing well i have now a 4.6hse gems engine
It starts first touch of the button and idles great
My problem is it will not rev above 1500 rpm then misfires But will go to over 3000rpm sometimes
I have changed stepper motor/cam sensor and checked plug leads are in the correct position on coil packs
I cant understand why it will still run if the cam sensor is disconected
I have just checked the relucter ring and found one tang/tooth mising on the inner circle could this be causing my problem
VERY sorry about a long thread

Well no crystal ball lol checked relucter ring and found a tang mising so i have made another tang and welded it in place range is now runnig how it should thanks for the sugestions

Ye its was in the question but i did not no at the time that there was supposed to be 35 tangs i had 34 & a half hence one tang missing.
Therefore the answer i needed ( was in the question ) so my Question was baisicly should there be a tang missing and could it be causing the problem no body asked or be it answered as to what i meant all i realy got was sarcasam i wil not use this forum again or recomend it well not as a member

There is good advice here but you may have to wait a bit until the nurse has finished with them and they've had their afternoon nap.

There is also, as you noted, a fair amount of what would probably be described as banter and sending up while people cogitate and wait for someone to spot the answer. It is an acquired taste. There is no nastiness in the intent as far as I'm aware.

All the odd coments and sarcasam help to keep the post at the top of the page and there for noticed , and gives us abit of light relief from the troubles of range rover owner ship.:D

That's not sarcasm - THIS is sarcasm (read this in an Australian accent)

What have the Hells Angels got to do with it!?!

Landyzone is the premier place for information and advice....but also it is a prime place for a spot of 'ribbing' and 'micky taking'....as above it takes the heartache and frustration out of Land Rover ownership.

There is a 'Welcome' post in the Introduction Forum which lays out that Landyzone is not your 'Typical' forum.....perhaps having read this important post would have prepared you for what you will encounter here....after all that is why the post is there!!

In fact, if you missed it....here it is..... https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/welcome-to-all-new-members.48503/

New users/members to this site have been fair-warned what to expect in this welcome message....so, please do not get out of your pram, it is like moaning the coffee is hot when there has been fair warning!
