Hey! noone of my washers are getting fluid (rear, headlights, or main wipers)

All fuses have been checked 1 by 1.

I've got 3 pumps, i believe their all identical anyhow, i got 2 different part numbers, yet quite look alike parts
I'm just wondering what would be the easiest and fastest way to replace the pumps to be honest. I don't mind spilling washer fluid, its low from before anyhow.

Depending on the state of your car, and how much jewellery you have hanging on the front, I found taking off the bumper made the job very easy to do.
 
Okay, so i have an update here. I replaced the main washer pump, and i got it to work. yay, BUT it drips due to the hose being a bit bigger than the connection at the pump. I also swapped out the headlamp pump, but i didnt get thoose to squirt :eek:
Neither my rear pump squirts. Note i did not replace the rear pump (only pump i didnt replace) as i believe i have the wrong part number? I have 2 AMR3272 and 1 AMR3271
They seem identical for me.

I used the AMR3272 for the headlamp and AMR3271 for the main screen. I didnt replace the rear due to the insulation being bad on it, but im unsure if my last AMR3272 will fit? I heard its 3 different part numbers for theese pumps geez :eek:

And, wow. i really dont understand why but my headlamp pump and rear washer pump was connected to each other by a hose, seems odd? as they would just pump fluid to each other??? if functional.. so i found the 2 other hoses for the headlamp and rear screen in the front somewere and took them on but they aint squirting.
One thing which i find weird is that the headlamp pump has only 1 pin inside the connector, rest has 2 i believe? :eek:
Is there a trick to trigger the headlamp pump? ive heard it goes on every 5 squirts as the ligths are on, is this true?

Must i maybe just pump and pump as the lines are previously empty i assume?
And how do i get the hose to stop leakin :confused: should i just take tape on the connection to make it thicker? :rolleyes: or must i purchase a 5000$ diamond o ring :eek:

anyhow im glad i just made the front screen squirting as the winter is aproaching. headlamps and rear would just be a nice bonus!

Hose dripping at the pump? Get a small zip (cable) tie and put it around the end and cinch it up tight. That will stop your drip.

Rear window washer is DMC10023.

Something else to check is that the one way valve isn't clogged. For the rear window it is under the LHS rear load space cover support from memory.

To get the headlights to wash, you need them on high beam (I think with the car running) and they should wash every second time you wash the screen.

thanks, yes i tried to ziptie it. Didnt work as the hose were quite stiff. I manages to get it not dripping by just having it on the tip but i doubt that will work in the length..

I am going to apply tape on the pump and hopefully fix it.

and also thank you for the information on the headlamp wash! Will this only work as you said or will they sometime wash when low beam is off like 2000+ audis etc? Like each 5 times.
 
Fun fun, i didnt drain my washerfluid yesterday, and it has managed to drip all out overnigth, even tho i saw it didnt drip. Maybe because im parking it on a dirt hill upwards dunno :D
I didnt fill the beast up all the way up anyways, but RIP 2 liters of washerfluid :eek: Atleast the low screen wash fluid sensor works great! :D:D

Sadly didnt have any time to fix the leakage today, i think i'll do it when i recieve my rear washer pump tbh.

I did atleast get to wash it properly!

it's a nice car, i think it is in a decent shape both mechanical and bodywise. Electrical however can be abit oof.
Currently got some mad air bubble inside the coolant tho so the temp gauge goes up and down sometimes severely quick :confused:
Can't wait to drive around in snow with this thing :p it even marks territory by ****ing abit oil :D

that is correct, the new pumps i've gotten is all the same size, the original however were a bit bigger (The main pump) I really don't see any difference in AMR3272 and 3271 either.
 
Hi, on the D2 the headlamp washer pump or 'power wash' as the manual describes it, have clips on their pipes as they're under higher pressure than the fr & rr screen wash, also the h/l washer pipes are larger diameter. Having said all that I'm not sure if the P38 is the same, just trying to be helpful an all that:). Also D2 h/lamps wash every third screen wash with the lights on low or high beam.

I'm just really confused about why my main windscreen pump has larger diameter hose and pump outlet bigger than the correct partnumber i ordered :confused:

It might have looked like it has been a clip on the main windscreen pump hose, or even a hoseclamp at prior. But its nowhere to be seen now atleast. I think my problem is an easy fix however. just waiting for my rear windscreen pump now :cool:
 
Here's a parts link to the P38 washer system. As I said my D2 has larger bore pipes & clips for the h/l wash due to the higher pressure. Are all the pumps interchangeable on your washer bottle? if so perhaps you've been sold a fr or rr screen pump instead of a h/l wash pump hence the h/lamp pump pipe work is to big for the pump you've been supplied & is leaking. Interesting, perhaps i have gotten the wrong pump for the main washer pump then. Note, it does work, and it gets the right amount of pressure and shots it out great. it just leaks, but i think i can fix it with tape ngl.

I dont have any of thoose clip hoses tho, i think im gonna hit the hardware store in a few days and buy some small hoseclamps/clips :)
