OK so the box is out, the flexy plate has disintegrated, ring gear plate has 1 missing pin and a couple of bent ones. The crank angle sensor is also damaged. I have found the flexy plate at a supplier in the UK, any body able to tell me best place to get a ring gear drive plate?

Thanks.

Nasty.

Don't know about the best place but Rimmers is a good place to check Land Rover price and part number. Island for possible alternatives. I then tend to ring the manufacturer and see what they suggest. They've all been very helpful in the past.

Ring gear plate was STC2098 superceded by STC3354 they are a lot of pennies. But a couple of used ones on the bay of E at little money search for STC3354.

Thanks Wazzajnr and Wammers and Grrrr. I have just returned from overseas and i am now on the hunt for the parts. I can't find anything at the moment on Ebay, but i have found a link to a wrecker and have emailed them for price and availability. Mean while if anybody has any other prospects for me, i would gratefully follow them up.

Thanks

Don't forget that the torque converter must be fully seated on the gearbox to the correct depth before offering up to the engine.
If it isn't then the TC won't have engaged with the pump in the box & will break it.

The TC is only pushed onto the input shaft & will happily slide off if it gets the chance so you might want to consider ways off stopping it slipping - on my RRC I made a 'T' piece to bolt in place of the small round plate on the bottom with the long bit of the 'T' against the TC. Use a decent thickness as thin metal can bend & let it slip - guess how I discovered that!
