P38 2.5 Diesel Tune up

I have a Superchip if anyone is interested? took it out of mine, never bothered to put it back again, link is difference in performance (its for a diesel)

No, its just a chip, its easy to put in, it replaces the standard one, its a swap

I've got a Superchip and it was soldered in place of the standard one.

Mine was put into the ecu? behind the battery, take it out unscrew the housing and just swap it

So was mine but done by Superchip,think it was a franchise guy who came out and fitted it.

So was mine, I got it real cheap, he made it in front of me, he had all the software, and put it on the chip, then put it in the RR I paid him cash in hand (under the table) that's why it was so cheap, he even trusted me to test it out before I paid hi lol

No it just slotted in, he puled the old one out

Its a chip, why would you solder a chip in? they push in!!

Did he have to put a chip holder in first? I thought the originals were soldered to the board?

Why did you take it out?

I had trouble with the ECU.... it got a little errr wet, so I had to get a new one and some other bits

Too much heat on any chip isnt always good, they do take a lot of heat before they die, but they all tend to slot in, they are not like a CPU with 200 solder dots on them

I was thinking of taking the box of and seeing how much better or not it was with a proper chip.
The ecu I have in mine now after my little incident of the fryed one both the chips inside just pull out and it looks original, so a quite swap to try.
