So my D3 went in for what I thought was a clicking driveshaft, but wasn't.

When the car is in D or R and in full lock the rear diff appears to lock, the wheels clunk and the car shakes.

When in a straight line the car performs perfect.

While the vehicle is in N and pushed around the yard the diff is fine.

While on the ramp the wheels and diff perform as expected.

Currently the car is booked back in for next Friday but I would love to have something to point them to first so as to limit my labour costs.

Current possibly avenue is the Transfer box, and a possibly related issue is that when in D or R the light for N is also illuminated. I have tried to do the manual calibration but if anything it made it worse in my opinion.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are lucky it might need only a calibration with dedicated diagnostic tool, that made the trick for D4 which is not much different

I am hoping the local indi can do it but they can't get it in till next Friday. I'm going to check the TCCM today for water ingress but past that I'm lost.

Check the gear selector pivot point has not seized or seizing, its on the driver sides of the gearbox, car in off road height, USE an axle stand under the chassis, then slide underneath with a torch and have a look see.

So no other CAN errors and the TCCM looks to be ok, on my reader all of the values look to be fine with voltages etc.

Not had chance to look under the car but I can hear and see the Tbox working on the live data, the supposed manual calibration method just does nothing and the clutch looks to be not moving past 60°.

Looks like I need to wait till Friday as my scanner won't run a forced clutch calibration.
