Hi
Could solenoid valve (faults as above) drain battery and after the some hours couse starter jamming and transission faults(selected gears only bla bla),after few minute ride all that faults vanish and car working fine

All that happend after alternator change for new one (denso DAN989 dedicated according to denso to 3.6 tdv8 rover
http://www.autopartoo.com/oem/denso/dan989cef.html

Previous alternator not oem and undefined dead suddenly(looks smaller then 150A), battery is 4 months Old- varta Silver 950A /110Ah

Symptoms
One Day after new alternator aassembly
-HDC off and park break signal on info panel-vanished after few miles(diagnostic results TB faults with communication and somę CAN faults)

Next day after some riding test(i tried to push 6 gear in manual mode even car ran only 50km per hour and Got 1200 rpm,5-6 Times push to the front after that
-transmission fault selected gears only
after few km all vanished gears backed
Diagnostic showed U0641 and P0929 and 928, not active

Next day cold car, starter jamming after two tries engine engaged, transmission fault etc. After few km all gone car working fine...now each day has the same jamming and transmission fault

What do you think? Does new alternator(charger) need some IDS adaptation? Assuming that Previous charger was too weak for that car?

Does transmission gearbox faults like solenoid valve open circut or out of range/performance could couse some power leakage?
thx for any help

PS today i contacted RR authoruised dealer which rudly inform me that i should install ONLY genuie LR battery and charger otherwise some problem like that happen

Just check the alternator is giving 14.2 volts at 2K rpm if you can get it started, less than 13.9 and either the alternator or battery are faulty. Varta batteries are not that good these days.

Ok some loose ground terminal found, so fixing it repair can faults and starter jamming

Now i have
1)when start engine on the panel shows" automatic transmission fault selected gears etc..."still keeping in P -just press throtle pedal(smth above 2000rpm) and fault vanish
2)when i turn off ignition and remove solenoid valve fault from ecu (its cause mentioned fault ) fault Come back just after ignition on (engine dont need to work to reissue fault) and it happens on P so dont need to turn on engine and switch to D
IT looks like Electronic problem however any suggestion welcome

I have that codes
U12287 lost communication with dynamic control moduł
P0929 Gear Shift Solenoid Control Circut Range/Performance

Not possible to clear that faults
That happens after my "forcing " gear change from 5 to 6 when car ran too slow to do it

Rather not connected with battery which is solid and quite new

Saint v8 easy to Say when you r in UK here in Poland most land rover authoruised dealer arę useless,if some gearbox fault happen they usualy suggests order new one

If my mechanic will not find any cause i will ride 200 km to not authorised however with huge expirience land Rovers mechanic

Land Rovers/Range Rovers are notorious for issues....best to find a decent place to take it for a thorough diagnostics...we can only go so far on the internet without seeing/driving the vehicle I am afraid.

Those codes mean not a lot to me, you'll need someone who is more experienced or trained than I am and who deals with autoboxes day in and day out...

My local mechanic checked all connectors which could create issue (on saturday) and not start engine till monday... on monday we(i joined him) start car and all faults gone...

Due to the fact that during saturday inspection have not found any suspicius problems he decided to check it one more time

After that faults back the same.... strange.. like smth with connection

Does keeping brake pedal pushed could block autogearbox gearshift faults from appearing?, when I push brake pedal and keeps it when switching the ignition key faults not appearing, when I release brake pedal faults appear

????

Doesn't do this on mine....sounds like your Rangie is very sick.

As we all have mentioned before, you have a transmission fault by the sounds of it....get it to a decent dealer for a full diagnostics.

Ok problem solved
1)we checked gearshift lock solenoid ... Connected to the car harness not working with 12v works great
2)so we checked rounded conector to which yellow and red cable from gearshift modul comes from, connector manufactured by germans (hmmm) connected stright to gearbox TCM
we reconnected , tightened a little bit pins and reconect it again,

ALL FAULTS GONE,
