Freelander 1 P0200 Injector Circuit Malfunction code

Hello All,

I am getting the following fault code on the diagnostic unit on my Td4 auto freelander 1.

I know the small plastic clip that holds the injector wiring loom has worn away, so the modern method of a cable tie has been used to hold it down and has been fine for ages, and have made sure it is still on which it is.

However now and then I get a misfire, usually on motorways, before paying a garage to replace an injector number 1, is there a method that can be used to make sure it is not the loom at fault rather than the injector itself.

Most of the time it runs fine, its just on motorways I have noticed this issue.

I believe the loom you are talking about is prone to faults and there is a replacement upgraded loom. It sounds like it'll fix your problem and should be a lot cheaper than replacing an injector which may not be faulty. You might find something on a search.

Thanks guys, much appreciated - Is there a way of testing to see if it is the loom?

They have different part numbers, but guess its the same

The LR part number looks to be YMQ503320. If you search on that on the FF website it brings up the above and another page - both though quote the same FF part number of FF007639.

I'm not sure how you test it - the problems look to be intermittent due to weak connections caused by corrosion.

Would it be ok to switch the loom/fuel pressure switch between injectors either at the injector end or more likely at both ends. Say injector number 1 with number 2. That way if number two then has a fault its the wiring, and if it is still injector 1 then its the injector.

It'll inject fuel at the wrong time and won't necessarily prove anything and could cause more damage then good

Even if both the connector and the wire at the other end were swapped over completely, not just one end? - or can it not be swapped at the other end away from the connecting injector plug

You won't change the firing order of the engine by a wiring change!

The firing order won't change if you are simply changing the rail sensor and harness. I'm not sure that the fault will go either thb

I was planning to change if it is what is causing the miss fire on motorways.
But was thinking a method of testing it for now.
I wont be able to change the injector myself if that is at fault, its showing injector 1 or the loom on injector 1 as faulty.
Just want to rule things out.

The injector loom can play up just like the fuel rail sensor wiring. It is possible to replace or repair the injector loom if needed.

No the injector loom is completely separate from the sensor harness (likelly for electrical noise isolation). The replacement fuel sensor harness just bypasses the wiring in the sensor harness, adding another small harness just for the fuel pressure sensor.

A simple continuity test can show which wire is damaged. Sometimes it's a case of wiggling the wires to identify which wire is faulty.
