P Reg disco 300tdi, is it me turbo ?

Help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Got a lovely 1996 Disco, only had it 4 months and lovin it. However, today, I was Just driving along the A1 and I herd a hissing comming from the centre of the dash, thought it was heater fan or radio until I realised they weren't on.

Anyway, it suddenly stopped, like a release of preasure, and I lost power to the engine, no grunt or acceleration in 5th at 60mph. And everytime I depressed accelerator, I heard a whistling whine from the engine, around passengers side.

Have I blown the turbo. Pleeese advise

wouldn't have thought it was the turbo as you haven't mentioned smoke, sounds like it could be an air leak- check the intercooler hoses for holes and check all the connections.
