Hi. I have Range Rover P38 2.5 DES 1996 Manual Gearbox. I have a problem with temp engine. When i run the car the temp after some minutes of driving go to red zone. Engine is overheating very fast. I dont know why. What i have to check???? The water of cooling system go out from deposite because the temp is high in the engine, this is normal things when the engine is very hot. What can i do???

Could be a dud thermostat to if it rises very quickly. Sounds like you have a problem RR with all your posts-

You either have a huge leak or HGF. Leak would be noticable hgf not so much. Flush it out to check a blocked rad to.

Thermostat, water pump, or failure of the baffle in the radiator header tank are the most likely causes. After that, if it has overheated a lot, HGF or a cracked head but these usually show when the engine is working hard not when it's idling.

No there is no leak anywhere. ''The water of cooling system go out from deposite'' mean that the colant liquid go out from the deposite where you put the liquid. How to check the thermostat?? or failure of the baffle in the radiator header tank?????????

With the age of the vehicle an if you intend to keep it you'd be better doing a completer overhaul of the cooling system. Replace the rad, thermostat, hoses and pump. However at your own risk as this wont eliminate a head gasket problem.

If its been run like this for sometime chances are you will have to replace a head and gasket to. Whichever way ask yourself is the value of your vehicle worth doing all this work.
