overdrive problems

hi could anyone help, i had to strip down my o/d as i had a major oil leak. i put it back together as i took it apart i went down the road it kept jumping out of disengaged gear so had another look and tookit apart again, now when i go down the road it wont jump out but as soon as u come off the throttle it makes a hell of a noise i 4t it had stripped the gears but it hasnt. has anyone got any ideas many thanks sam

Have you got the casterlated done up tight and is the lock tab on there as well?

Thrust bearings worn? Also are you sure its not your diff?, sometimes the nut on the pinion(youll have to undo your rear propshaft) comes loose and make a terrific noise on deceleration/engine braking.

i shall cheak the casterlated nut but i havent undone that to rovemove overdrive should i have also is it the one in the transfer box?. im pretty sure its not the diff as it wasnt doin it b4 on after the secound time i stripped the od down thatnks for the replys

Sorry mis-read, thought you had fitted an o/d that was giving trouble. in which no you would not need to touch the casterlated nut.

i still have a problem with the overdrive i tihink its to do with them doungonts in the synro drive gear as i have tryed them a diff way round and now its gos into gear but really whining now could anybody tel me how they go in and also any pics would be nice i have read that nicks rebuild many thanks
