I'm running a 1999 Diesel Freelander (L series). It has done 170k.
It has just started to over rev. When stopped at road junction etc it will not idle at its usual 800 revs but runs at 1200+ then rises to 2000 to 2500. This is an intermittent problem but it is becoming more frequent. It will also seem to stall then pick up again whilst driving normally. Occasionally the red engine light flickers on then goes off. Has anyone any ideas where I should start? Is it fuel related? Is it a filter problem? Has anyone experienced this before?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Cheers Dave (Stockton on Tees)

poor it all over the seats inside with at least one window open, step well back an then throw a lit match trough the window:rolleyes:

i'm pretty sure by the time the fire brigade get there your engine wont over rev ever again:D

but you would get a less sarcastic reply if you posted in the gaylander section:rolleyes:

hope that helps:rolleyes:

I was obviously mistaken in thinking I might get some constructive help from this forum. This was my first post on this forum, and from the response, it is likely to be my last.
