Advice needed!

Stuck in stop start traffic yesterday my Freelander started to over heat. We got to where we needed to go then driving home late last night in no traffic it drove fine but the temperature gauge didn't lift of the bottom. It normally sits at half way and also my heating wasn't very hot any ideas people.

Sounds like your thermostat was stuck closed then went fully open and stuck in that position. When replacing it make sure the alternator is covered with plastic to stop it being drenched in coolant. If you drain the coolant you can re-use it but you’d be wise to renew it.

How did you work out it was over heating?
