i've got myself a 97 300tdi 110, and i'm sure i ran out of fuel, due to a leaky manual lift pump, and a faulty fuel gauge.
the question i have; i've refilled it, replaced the manual lift pump, but i cannot get fuel to the engine.
i've tried starting to, i've tried pumping it manually with the fuel filter bleed valve open, i've tried pull starting it..nothing...i cannot get fuel to the engine...
any advice on where i should be checking, or what i should be doing to get air out of the line, and fuel through?
cheers,
steve

Undo the air filter housing and get someone to crank the engine and deck the accelerator pedal while you spray some easystart, carb cleaner, damp start etc into the air intake. The engine will run on that and draw the fuel up. It might sound a bit clattery for a few seconds but it'll get it going easy enough.;)

Hehe, I got the thing running last night :) Found i had a kink in the fuel pipe  Starts almost as quick as a TDI! The seal also sorted out the leak :D
