You sure about a q ?

If its the 92 chassis with a td5 body and engine then its still a 92 with a new engine as far as I can gather. The parts replaced or swapped are the same just look nicer, so like for like really

Not 100% sure, but i believe that any 'vehicle built from multiple Origen' has to be on a Q plate as its not posable to put an age to the vehicle.?

I know you are meant to go Q plates for a galv chassis (so I have been told)

So the series 2a that my girlfriend owns should be a q then as it has a series 3 bulkhead and wings is what you're saying as should all series with defender front ends etc ?

If its the 92 chassis that's the vehicle Id, same with these ringers you see. They're a ringer cos they're using a 61 chassis number on a 2000 chassis it's a 2000 vehicle still just someone's a ####. With the 92 it should be a 92 if on the 92 chassis

It's running on the TD5 chassis.. Not sure which bit is 92 lol

In that case it should be a td5 :) chassis number is why makes it a td5 so I presume he's just cut off the number and put on the 92 vin so its like a ringer. Presume it was to beat road tax a little as td5 are more to tax and would it make it lez compliant at 92 ?

Like I said... Not 100% on the rulings, but if the chassis and running gear are the same then body panels I would think don't matter as to origin of the vehicle,(unless its a freelander on disco chassis lol) so your series should be fine :)

Either way it looks to be a ringer.. Even worse is it has 21 bids on it so people obviously are clueless!! :0

I know my series is fine ;) it's registered as 1962 as it was built then but cast from the army in 72 managed to get the original reg iirc

But yes ringer on the td5 mongrel, and anyone bidding is a fool. No idea why you'd want something that looks like that anyway

If you replace a chassis with a new chassis, built to EXACTLY the same specification as the old one then you can transfer the plates and reg straight across from the old one, therefore, you can, 100% legally within every law, buy a new galvanised chassis to replace a worn out old one assuming they are identical.

You can't however have any modifications, so, no extra hangers for fuel tanks, different spring mounts, shorter, longer, etc.

The rest of it is done on a points scheme for if it should be Q plate or not (search, it's been covered millions of times) doesn't matter if you have an engine from a D1 and axles from a range rover on a series, if it's within the points and the chassis isn't altered.
