Five Hundred and Seven Mechanical Movements by Henry T. Brown, first
published in 1896.

It's a book that has a small diagram of a strange mechanical movement,
for example a set of strangely shaped gears, and a short explanation
of what they do and what they were used for. There's usually about 9
per page and it's a fascinating read!
