Before I spend over £120 for a set of Land Rover Discover rubber mats I was wondering if that money was worth it. I have seen plenty of other sets for less than £50...

Thanks for your help here.

It is interesting your mentioning this, I would not expect this from original LR stuff. What about the smell? My experience with rubber mats is that the quality are more or less good enough but the smell can kill you!

I never noticed a rubber smell from the LR mats that were supplied by a main dealer, but I know what u mean... I purchased a length of rubber matting for my wife’s car, boot, off eBay, it’s heavy stuff with raised cat paw print all over it. :)
I just removed the existing carpet, used it as a pattern and refitted back and laid the new rubber on on top, perfect, but it did smell for a couple of weeks but the cars a/c soon removed the smell quickly for those two weeks. Footwell rubber mats are just the Halfords universal ones which work very well two and a bit years on.

I found a genuine rubber rear mat for my P38 on the Bay of E for £15 seem to be made quite well..

But IMO £120 is ridiculous for a set of mats!

I use an aftermarket rubber mat in the driver's footwell, after all it's the one that gets the most use and wear. I've not noticed any problems.
The one thing which does annoy me though is that you can only buy either a half set, front footwells or a full set, front and rear mats. This means that you either have to build a store of unused passenger's mats or throw a perfectly good passenger side mat away.

I’m on my second LR driver’s mat in 2 years. Like others on here stated they wear out after a while.
Try a cheaper route and check an auto scrap yard or find someone parting out their Land Rover and ask if they are selling their mats.

Check out the Exmoor trim mats.. they are about 30 quid each.. Iµ got them for my car and they are thick and don't look like they wear out fast.
