Hi, I'm 24, male, like long romantic walks along the beach..... sorry wrong forum.

I jest, but am completely new to the land Rover game. initially I planned to spend 3k on a defender to be my main commuter but also to carry my mountain bike, paraglider, a canoe or two, and some logs in the winter. After buying a few mags and visiting this website I am now into the idea of offroading and greenlaning.

I want to purchase something soon, if you were in my position would you go for something older I.e. k reg but with lower miles 130,000, or something slightly newer say p reg but with 170k miles. I know it depends on what used for etc but I'm looking for a general consensus. I could stretch my budget to 4 or even 5 but at this rate I'll never sort a deposit!

Hello! I've no experience of Defenders but I'm pretty sure it's like everything else Land Rover, condition above all else. I'm sure some tratter boys will be along soon enough.

Mileage is rarely an issue if the engine has been regularly serviced. Biggest issue will be corrosion, have a search of the forum as there is a lot of info on here already....
